This is a bronze sculpture of Paul the Apostle also called Saint Paul. He was one of the most influential early Christian missionaries, with his writings forming a considerable portion of the New Testament. His influence on Christian thinking has been of utmost significance due to his role as a prominent apostle of Christianity during the spreading of the Gospel through early Christian communities across the Roman Empire. He stands giving the sign of benediction with his left hand while the other holds on the bible and a religious staff. The handmade sculpture was cast using the age-old method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation. It is mounted upon a black marble base with the European Bronze Finery stamp of quality and the artist Moreaus signature.
