Natural and elegant, the Leaflet Lamp derives its gentle shape from the cocoa leaf. With subtle twists and curves, this piece brings a sense of calm and tranquility to its surrounding environment while the warm earthy colors of its weave and driftwood base add richness. Features large fossilized cocoa leaves that are hand placed on a standard UL lamp backing and then laminated using a non-toxic adhesive, creating two sides of the lamp. The third side is finished with a hand-woven, renewable, abaca mesh. The panels are handstitched onto a powder coated, wrought iron frame to form a leaf design which sets on a solid mango base, sustainably sourced from mango farms.

Story Behind the Art:A gecko lamp started it all. While vacationing in the Philippines in 2003, the founder of Eangee Home spotted the charming piece. A talk with the creator sparked an idea, and upon returning home he and his partners opened a small retail store to sell the lamp and similar items. A few years later they realized that if they shifted their focus to becoming a distributor they could bring a wider variety of unique, sustainably made products to the market. They decided to focus their partnerships with makers in the Philippines since the concept of creating by hand and being detail oriented is part of their cultural tradition. The unique designs they offer are a result of a collaboration of their experience from years in retail, and the creative minds of the artisans with whom they work. They are committed to ensuring that all of their products are eco-friendly and are made of renewable and/or recycled materials with food- based dyes and low-impact finishes.While the business has grown, they've stayed true to their core mission of filling people's homes with sustainable products while supporting the talented makers who create them. To help ensure this, all makers they partner with have access to clean, safe working spaces, living wages, healthcare, continuing education, and quality housing.
